PLDA Darkroom offers Lightfair 2011 attendees an opportunity to socialize with others in the lighting design community immediately following the fair and celebrate the great photography featured in the PLDA Darkroom online exhibition. Free and open to the public, the event includes food, drinks, and looping projections of the submitted images in a room illuminated with red “safe light” typical of film darkroom environments.

 

When:  Tuesday 17 May 2011, 5:00 to 7:00PM

Where: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - Power Plant Productions

Cost:  FREE!!  Registration required.

Professional Lighting Designers' Association



The Professional Lighting Designers’ Association, PLDA is a voluntary federation of lighting designers and lighting consultants who are active on an international scale, their purpose being to increase the reputation of the profession and to establish the profession as such in its own right, and to promote good lighting design in the interest of the client, the architectural space and, above all, the users.  PLDA offers a comprehensive network of top specialists in the field with over 700 members from 50 different countries, comprised of students, professionals and educators.  Supporting and encouraging Lighting Design education is a core value of the PLDA and we are deeply involved with planning and organizing effective education and training programs, ranging from degree-granting programs to seminars.
